The Athletic’s Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers believes that the club could look to sign a midfielder in the summer, per The Molineux View podcast (March 10th, 15:26).

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side drew 0-0 with Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
And Spiers was particularly unimpressed by the performance of Leander Dendoncker, who played alongside Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho in central midfield.
The former, who was signed from Anderlecht on a permanent basis in the summer for a fee of £12m, has played in both central midfield and central defence this season.

Spiers, thus, thinks that Wolves will look to bring in a midfielder in the summer transfer window.
He said: “The performance of Dendoncker probably didn’t help. Didn’t really see him bursting through the lines enough.
“I think that’s something they’ll want to address in the summer.
“They need a bit more of a creative spark in that role if they want to play 3-5-2.”
Position needed
Dendoncker needs to decide on his best position.
He’s 24 and has played 20 times in midfield and 16 times in central defence this season.
Per WhoScored, though, he perhaps better suits a role at the back instead of in the centre of the pitch.
In the Premier League, he averages 1.9 tackles per game, 1.2 interceptions, and 1.9 clearances. Offensively, he has just 0.4 shots per game and 0.2 key passes.
Dropping him back would allow Wolves to fill a spot in central midfield in the summer transfer window and also let Dendoncker thrive.
It makes complete sense.
