After missing significant time due to injury, U.S. international Haji Wright scored an incredible hat-trick to get his first set of goals since November on Saturday. It was his first start since his return two weeks ago. The Coventry City star scored first in the 21st minute, giving his side the lead at home. Eight minutes later, he made it 2-0, converting from the penalty spot to extend Coventry's advantage. He added one more for good measure in the 73rd, ending any hopes of a late Sunderland comeback in a 3-0 win.
With the three goals, Wright's total for the season now stands at 10, despite missing three and a half months of the campaign due to an ankle injury.

The goals will no doubt provide a huge lift to Coventry, who are currently pushing for a playoff spot near the top of the Championship. Wright's return to form will be integral in that pursuit as the club makes a run at the Premier League.
Wright was left off the USMNT roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League due to his injury issues, but the forward will hope to push his way into Mauricio Pochettino's plans ahead of this summer's international matches.
With Ricardo Pepi and Folarin Balogun out of action as well, Josh Sargent, Patrick Agyemang, and Brian White have been called in by Pochettino to lead the line for the Nations League.
