Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has persuaded NAC Breda midfielder Enric Valles to move to St Andrew's.
The 20-year-old is a free agent after his contract with the Dutch club came to an end and he has signed a one-year deal with City that is due to start on 1 July.
He has not started a game for NAC although he did make four substitute appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Garry O'Connor has been offered a new contract as his current deal is due to expire this summer. The Blues have a two-year option on the striker and have decided to take it up.
"We have talked to Garry about an extension of his contract," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail."He has been out injured a long time so we've needed to reassess things.
"But my physios in the building are saying he has been training at a very good intensity just now. They are really delighted with his progress. So there could be a wee bit of scope there for a contract."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
