Southampton’s miserable start to the Premier League season under Mauricio Pellegrino continued as they were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, and Saints fans singled out Dusan Tadic for criticism.
The Serbia international has been a regular in the team despite the fact that he has scored just one goal and provided one assist in his last 22 top flight appearances, and he failed to make an impact in the final third against the Reds before being withdrawn in the 55th minute.
The 28-year-old was also partly at fault for Jurgen Klopp’s men’s opening goal, as the south coast outfit lost for the fifth time in 12 games this term to slip down to 14th in the standings.
Southampton supporters were quick to have their say on Tadic’s showing via social media, and while one said “he needs to be dropped immediately”, another said “I swear he hasn’t had a good game for over a year now”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
