According to results from our recent poll, the vast majority of Newcastle fans would love to see Patrick Herrmann at St James Park – the German has slipped down the pecking order at Borussia Monchengladbach and, as TransfermarketWeb reports, has been targeted by Rafa Benitez and co.
According to TransfermarketWeb, Newcastle are one of three clubs keen on the winger, who could be allowed to leave this month after becoming a spare part at Borussia Park.
With Kenedy failing to repay the faith kept in him by Benitez this season – the Toon Army have even clamoured for the Brazilian to be sent back to Chelsea, the club from which he is on loan – the Magpies are lacking pace to enable them to hurt teams on the break.

Herrmann is easily one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga and, after spending his entire career with Monchengladbach, has become a cult hero with his current club . We suggested that Newcastle move for the 27-year-old with the premise that he could be a huge upgrade on Kenedy and become a fan-favourite once again – it turns out that a massive 85% of fans agreed with us.
