Notts County have confirmed the arrival of centre-back Ben Barclay on loan until the end of the season from Brighton and Hove Albion. Injured defender Ben Hall, meanwhile, will head in the opposite direction, in order to continue his rehabilitation back with his parent club at the Amex Stadium.
Barclay will now take up Hall’s vacated place in the squad at Meadow Lane, bolstering Neal Ardley’s defensive contingent.
The 22-year-old has been a regular for the Seagulls’ under-23s side in recent seasons, and made his senior debut for Chris Hughton’s outfit in a League Cup clash in August 2018. Barclay will now be eager to take this opportunity for regular senior action whilst on loan with the League Two club.

County certainly need Barclay to step up to this task, as the Magpies are currently floundering at the foot of the table.
