Davies has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the last year with his contract set to wind down this summer. reporter Tobi Altschaffl has claimed Davies' agent will stay in Munich until January 16 as he looks to thrash out the last details on an extension which has gathered pace since November. Bayern's director of sport, Max Eberl, has also opened up about the talks.

Speaking to the media, Eberl said: "It's no secret that we're talking to the agents of the players whose contracts are expiring. We have a game on Saturday so I'm ruling out anything happening this week. What we've all agreed on is that we won't go into the phase with the important games [without a decision].
"Everyone is interested in us having a successful second half of the season with Bayern Munich. We're trying to make all parties happy."
WHAT NEXT FOR DAVIES?
Davies' future may well lie in Munich then, having long been courted by Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are also interested in another out-of-contract full back in Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.
