Messi is set to reunite with the French club when Inter Miami take them on in the last 16 of the Club World Cup on Sunday, but Hakimi has made it clear he should not expect any favours from the team he used to play for.

Hakimi said: "It will be nice to see Messi again. There were a lot of great moments. On the pitch, there are no friends. He’s going to try and win, and we’re going to try and win too. We’re going to give everything to try and get through to the next round."

Former France international and PSG midfielder Jerome Rothen has spoken in even more brutal terms about Messi ahead of the game. He claims the Argentina legend came out with "bullsh*t excuses" during his time in France and encouraged the club's supporters to whistle him during the match.
