Rashford missed training due to 'illness''Spotted' again at nightclub in BelfastUnited ace could face disciplinary action@marcusrashford InstagramWHAT HAPPENED?
The Red Devils star reportedly enjoyed a night out in Belfast on Wednesday, with the forward then delaying his flight home until Friday morning after falling ill – meaning he missed training that day. Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed the 26-year-old's absence ahead of Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round clash against Newport County but now reports suggest he had two nights out in a row in the Northern Irish capital.

The England international was criticised by manager Ten Hag earlier this season when he went out clubbing after United lost 3-0 to Manchester City, with the Dutchman saying it was "unacceptable". The Red Devils academy product was dropped from the starting XI against Wolves in December 2022 after being late for a meeting, so going by this latest breach, Rashford is likely to face some sort of punishment. Following Jadon Sancho's banishment from the team after an argument with Ten Hag, United are seemingly having too many incidents where discipline is an issue.

According to reports, Rashford trained on Wednesday and was pictured at Lavery's Bar that evening in Belfast ahead of a planned day off. The forward, who was understood to have seen Larne FC player and former United academy teammate Ro-Shaun Williams, was then reportedly spotted in Thompsons Garage nightclub the following evening, before getting a private jet home on Friday morning.
WHAT NEXT?
While United will focus on beating League Two side Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Rodney Parade on Sunday, Ten Hag will inevitably be asked about this situation and the Dutchman is likely to act in a swift manner to resolve the issue.
