Rashford hints at leaving Man UtdLeft out of Man Utd squad Shearer tells Man Utd to back Amorim in clashFollow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱WHAT HAPPENED?
Rashford’s career at Manchester United has not panned out in quite the way many would have predicted when he first broke into the Red Devils’ first-team in 2015. While the United academy graduate has shown glimpses of greatness, his last two seasons at Old Trafford have been a major let down and the 27-year-old has been dropped by Amorim for the 20-time Premier League champions’ last four matchday squads in all competitions.

Rashford has since hinted at a desire to leave Manchester United in the near future and has claimed he's open to a "new challenge." Amorim has turned away questions regarding Rashford’s potential exit and Premier League legend Shearer has urged the Red Devils to sort the situation out and back the Portuguese manager if push comes to shove in the Rashford saga.

Speaking to Betfair, Shearer said: “They have to back Amorim. They've brought him in because it hasn't been anywhere near good enough and he needs to sort that mess out.
"He has to be able to do what he wants, and the situation with Marcus Rashford will be sorted out, whether it's sorted out in January, I guess for both parties will come to an agreement, but that's part of the process of who he wants to get out of the club and who he wants to bring in.
“Clearly, it isn't a healthy situation for the club, if Marcus doesn't want to be there and the manager doesn't want him there either. If that is the case, then it's best for both parties that something sooner rather than later is sorted out – that's easier said than done when you're on a huge contract.”
WHAT NEXT FOR RASHFORD?
The England international has returned to Amorim’s squad for Manchester United’s clash against Newcastle United later today, which could hint at a potential reconciliation between Rashford and the club heading forward. However, a move away from Old Trafford in 2025 does still appear to be on the cards for Rashford.
